Easter 2011

So Saturday night, it occurred to me that I hadn't done anything for Easter for Carrie. I woke up early Easter Sunday, picked out a nice cherry blossom photo, Added "Happy Easter" text and got it printed out at CVS. Then I went to the grocery store to pick up some food to make breakfast. I figured Carrie would still be asleep when I returned, but she was up so we made breakfast together. It was very nice out and we wanted to get outside so we rode down to the National Zoo. It was my first time exploring the entire zoo. It was alright... No Busch Gardens - Tampa Bay.

From there, Carrie and I rode down to Rock Creek Park to see where the bike path led to. Turns out it goes right to the edge of Georgetown, so we got off the trail and hung out by the water for a little bit before heading back home to get ready for a nice dinner with her parents.

Evening at the National Cathedral

Messing with Photoshop & Swamp Panoramic

It was rainy all day Saturday, so I just stayed inside and spent a few hours on Photoshop. I did some more of these black and white with colors, and I stitched my stadium photos to make the panoramic of The Swamp.

Unfortunately, I made a rookie mistake. I took the pictures from where I was sitting, which was on the 5-yard line. This caused the near side of the stadium to show up much larger than the far side. I should have gone to the 50-yard line and took the photos from there. Oh well, next time...

Orange & Blue Debut - 2011

All the people in D.C. looked at me funny when I said I was going to Florida to see a spring football game, but it was totally worth it. I, along with Gator Nation, have been waiting four months to see what the Gators would look like under new Head Coach Will Muschamp and Charlie Weis at OC. The offense was kind of disappointing, but it is a new system, and the defensive line and linebackers are absolute beasts.

I went to the game with Pabst and Proemsey. It was at noon and so hot. I was pretty pumped to see that they busted out the Orange jerseys for the Orange defense. I was taking photos basically the whole time and I got a ton of great pics. We got really good seats about tens rows back. I was looking at the photos they had on Gatorsports.com, and mine were better even though I was in the stands and their guy was on the field. I should just move to O-G'ville and be a sports photographer.

At half-time, they unveiled the Heisman winner statues of Steve Spurrier, Danny Weurffel and Tim Tebow outside the stadium. Then, in the second half they played mostly backups on offense, so it was mostly dominated by the defense. I had a great time though, and after the game we checked out the statues. After the game we got food and rested ourselves before going out hard, or as Primz would say, "Doin' what real Gees do!" and I invented a new drink... the 22 oz. Zipperhead, and I am suffering today because of it.

There are a lot of pics in this post because I like so many of them. I took a couple hundred all together, so paring it down was kind of hard to do. These are probably my favorite photos that I have taken, so enjoy.
